'Versace Spring / Summer 2012 Women\'s Ready-To-Wear Collection by Donatella Versace Some say Italians do it better, and Donatella Versace certainy managed to live up to that reputation with her spring 2012 ready-to-wear collection. She combined the best of two worlds, the old and the new in her new collection for Versace. The result was a line up heavy on leather, neoprene, and patterned gold studded applications and body conscious silhouettes that included shapely tailored shorts, pencil skirts, and floor sweeping evening gowns. Donatella offered a sea of creations that radiated with Hollywood glamour and good old fashioned Italian sex appeal. There was a white leather pencil skirt with a gold studded seahorse pattern paired with a simple bandeau top that was alluring and youthful. The neoprene jackets were paired with shapely shorts, printed with seahorses, starfish, and shells offering the Versace girl something playful and new for day or evening. Mini-goddess cocktail dresses with streams of pleats running down one side of the body came in a palette that ran from sky blue to mint green, pale yellow, and seductive noir. Known for her drop dead glamorous evening gowns, Donatella sent out a dizzying array of show stopping numbers embellished with glittering sea creatures created using a gold studding technique designed to accentuate a women\'s figure. The finale featured a pearl white full length silk gown with a thigh high slit embellished with a silver starfish on the bodice and an open back. Donatella is definitely having her moment, creating a collection that captured a sense of femininity and sex appeal like nothing we\'ve seen before, it had all the best elements of the Versace brand and more.
