'Terrors are unfortunate but necessary; and perceptions are always adjusted for the sake of survival. Traumas always tilt internal lenses, which one can use to reveal an aesthetic that crawls within the psyche’s undercurrent. In that dark underground, I find the inspiration to portray the unavoidable monsters of subsistence. I attempt to tame these creatures that usually evoke fear and reveal their inherent magnificent. Adjusted perceptions, after all, could summon lovely hope despite the dread. From basking in debauchery to the melancholia thereafter, emerges a creature that treads the realm of things terrifyingly beautiful. And this conjured creature, with a hundred segments connected, stabilized by a hundred legs, arouses strength in its nightmarish design— A centipede appears like a scar inflicted with motion. A totem to wounds redefined into reminders, inscribed with meaning and lessons for growth. These are my scars, manifested in fabric and beadwork, patterned to naturally occurring horrors and made grand.'
