Article by: Navah Fuchs New York-based fashion designer Adrian Aliceas collection is all about taking the modern sophisticated woman through her past incarnations. Relying on fur, chiffon, satin, and velvet, his pieces each pack a wow factor, usually revolving around how structured garments highlight female eroticism. The colors tend toward a bolder palate, such as the red fur jacket and tights and the black cat suite with red trimming on the fur lined boots. What is so compelling about Alicias design aesthetic is how he holds the symmetry of the body in equal importance to the garment. For example, the finishing piece is transcends human structure and fashion; a draping toga of indigo and red, leaving half of the models torso exposed. While there is an admittedly obvious shock factor associated with an exposed gilded breast, there is also a clear love and admiration of the human body.
