The \"Albamoda\" fashion festival transformed Moscow\'s most picturesque railway station into a giant catwalk for its sixth annual show, which had as its theme \"reflections on dreams, fantasies and the future. \" Westwood kicked off the festival by showing her Gold Label collection, inspired by the intellectual women of the 1920s. Her clothes represent the ideal of women whose \"thirst for knowledge knew no bounds.\" People who travelled \"to Morocco or Greece on archaeological and anthropological quests returning with their finds\". The lines of Westwood\'s gold collection are based on geometric shapes, both square and circular, that are cut and sewn together in a meandering technique. Vivienne Westwood also used the opportunity to announce that she is planning to open a Moscow branch of her boutique. But Westwood was a guest and unable to enter the festival\'s competition - which was won by Russian designer PAVEL KAPLEVICH. Kaplevich captured the most audience votes to become King of Albamoda 2001 for his first commericial fashion collection. Russia\'s most prestigious theatre costume designer, Kaplevich fashions his clothes from a special fabric he makes himself. They were carried down the catwalk on the backs of his favourite mannequins, boxers, as well as some professional models who moved to the music of Goran Bregovich. Other designers that took part in the festival were Atsuro Tayama, Sandra Straukaite, Marian Pejoski, Maka Assathiani, Arkadius, and Michiko Koshino.
