'How To Create A Fashion Portfolio is today\'s video topic. What to include in a fashion portfolio? Why do you need a portfolio? I will explain that in today\'s video.  In today\'™s video, I have shown you what all need to be included in a fashion student\'s portfolio. This video is requested by Akanksha. I have tried my best to put all the information into this video.   Designing is different for each person. Every fashion school teaches differently. As I always say, there is no right or wrong in the design. This video will help you work on your portfolio which will represent YOU as a fashion designer and a creative person.  A portfolio is a compilation of your creative work. You must include your best work. don\'™t include anything which you are not happy with? You must show the process of your work. Have a story to tell about each collection. If you have nothing to talk about a collection, don’t include it. Based on your portfolio, universities are going to select you for the higher studies or a company will give you a job or a designer will select you as an assistant.  You should not have too many or too few collections. Have at least 5-6 collections in a portfolio. There are 2 ways to select the collections. One: choose a category that is your strength and create your whole series of collections only on that. This will help you channelize your career based on your interest. If you are not sure about what your strength is, there is way Two: Allocate one collection for one category. You would have had modules for different categories, start creating collections based on each module. This is what I have done in college. This helped me in my first job as I worked on all men, women, and kids collections for different brands there. You will have different portfolios for different categories eventually.  1. Men\'s wear  2. Women\'s wear  3. Kid\'s wear  4. Textile based collection  5. Brand based collection 6. Industry internship collection. This came up to 6 collections already.  Tips: -- Keep the whole portfolio as one theme. Like a book or magazine. -- Have a cover page which says everything about you in one picture or sentence, content page, closing page.  --” You need to be able to change the pages from your portfolio. you might want to remove an old collection or add a new one in the future --” Keep your best collection as the 1st one in the portfolio. Whoever sees it should be impressed and keep your 2nd best at the end of the portfolio. This will keep your best work in the viewer\'s mind. --” A portfolio should be understood by a person even in your absence. Write down descriptions of all your designs. --” Have all the swatches in the same size and similar format for all the collections  Those are my suggestions for creating a portfolio.
