A-line silhouettes in loose fitting forms, graced the body in satin fabric without looking tacky. An embellished sleeve added some shimmer while a tulle skirt was combined with a peplum hemmed long sleeve shirt. Even the use of sparkling fabric for a two piece maintained sophistication through simplicity of design. Mapitso Mokhele was born in 1984, in Matatiele in Khoapha location. She then studied at Lindiwe Khuzwayo Fashion Academy obtaining her diploma in 2011. 2012 saw her registering her own company Rich Couture yet now designing under the name Mapitso. Formed in 2015, this change was derived from the way every garment is uniquely put together using a hand sewing Singer machine that holds sentimental value to her and brings about distinct and hand-made bespoke clothing. Sewing her garments the old-school way remains her core signature that sees a personal touch with every thread.
