Mixed patterns with eclectic spurts of colour set the tone for this season’s collection; shawls in earthy tones thrown across the shoulders, printed scarves and shirts in autumn-inspired colours gave life to muted colour elements. A brown romper with gold embellishments worn with paint splattered boots brought an interjection of quirkiness to the show. The Touch of Bling brand was founded in 2010 by Thabo Khumalo. Thabo attained his skills while assisting his seamstress mother with her business and he realised that he had a talent to create. His remarkable talent and creativity has enabled him to take part in numerous fashion shows such as the South African Fashion Week, the Soweto Fashion Week, the Mpumalanga Fashion Week to name a few. Thabo has dressed and styled Mzansi’s sexiest 2015 Sowetan live calendar celebrities. In 2012, this young designer worked with Previdar, an online magazine, designing for their cover celebrities. He is currently doing an internship at Roman Handt – a well-known fashion designer – to learn the ins and outs of the fashion business. Roman Handt is also his mentor. He looks up to designers such as David Tlale, Thula Sindi and Shaldon Kopman.
