Walking New York, the Stage of Dreams The world′s fashionistas gathered in New York, the fashion capital! New York Fashion Week is one of four major fashion weeks, and the biggest fashion-related event in the world. This world-renowned event was held in Manhattan and commenced on February 6. Models Loved by Designers Soo Joo is receiving countless offers from many world-renowned designers including Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Karl Lagerfeld, and John Galliano. Park Ji-hye was featured in campaigns for Louis Vuitton, and lavishly praised by Alexander Wang. Kim Sung-hee is the first Asian to model for the high-end brand Prada. New York Magazine recognized the three as the models to look for in 2013 at New York Fashion Week. They showed the excellent capabilities of Korean models all across the world. Furthermore, they proved the power of Korean models by taking part in 42 fashion shows at 2014 F/W New York Fashion Week. Asian Models Expand Further into the Global Stage The growth of the Asian fashion market and the world′s rising interest in Asia has naturally led to more opportunities for Asian models on the global stage. Korean model Han No-ma made his overseas debut by residing in New York and targeting the stage. At this season′s New York Fashion Week, he modeled for Public School, Lacoste, and Richard Chai among others, showing off his confident walk. We meet him backstage and take a glimpse at his life as a model. In addition, Korea′s representative designer Lie Sang-bong successfully held his first solo fashion show in New York.
