SOUNDBITE (English) Danny Davis, Defence lawyer for Anand Jon Alexander: "It appears to me that this case fairly is gossip among young models that's gone a little wild. And there's been a great deal of cross contamination, sharing of stories in print, on the internet and personally. And we've now discovered that there's a common unifying source of this information. It's essentially brought the girls together. Many of these cases are years old and are questionable." 6. Alexander being escorted out of courthouse in handcuffs, zoom into cuffed hands 7. SOUNDBITE (English) Danny Davis, Defence lawyer for Anand Jon Alexander: "Many of these girls -long after they claimed these events happened, did not report it to the police and continued to work with and associate and be seen with my client in his capacity as a designer. So there's much afoot to be studied." 9. In opening statements of his trial, Prosecutor Frances Young told the jury Friday that the Indian-born Alexander was excited by luring aspiring fashion models to his Beverly Hills apartment and then forcing them to perform oral sex, inappropriately touching them or raping them. Defence attorney Leonard Levine countered in his opening statement that the only humiliation in the case was that the women never became models and were angry at Alexander because he made them do various chores while they visited him. The designer launched his fashion line in 1999 after graduating from the Parsons School of Design in New York. He also was a profiled designer on 'America's Next Top Model' in 2003.
