'(5 Jun 2012) OLSEN TWINS GET FASHION\'S BIG PRIZE Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen took home the biggest prize of the night at the annual Council of Fashion Designers of America awards Monday (4 JUN 2012). They\'ve been selected as the country\'s top womenswear designers for their collection called The Row. \"It\'s nice to be honored for something you work so hard every day,\" said Mary-Kate before the ceremony. The design duo walked the red carpet with model and actress Lauren Hutton. \"When I did their first modeling five years ago, on their very first show, I loved these clothes so much, I lived in them. I am stunned at how smart the fashion world picked it up. Only five years,\" said Hutton. Jessica Chastain announced the 25-year-olds as winners at Lincoln Center in front of an audience that drew not only from the fashion world but also Hollywood. \"It\'s a competitive business and tonight, all of that flies out the window and it\'s really all about patting people on the back and saying, \'Job well done,\'\" said designer Michael Kors, who walked the red carpet with model Joan Smalls. \"Mad Men\'s\" Jessica Pare gave Reed Krakoff his trophy as best designer of accessories, and \"White Collar\'s\" Matt Bomer gave menswear designer Billy Reid his. American designer Tommy Hilfiger received the lifetime achievement award. \"I thought you were supposed to be much older to receive an award like this but I\'m humbled and grateful,\" he said. Actress Busy Phillips, who attended the wedding of pal Drew Barrymore over the weekend, wasn\'t divulging any details of the star-studded southern California affair: \"Oh my gosh. You know weddings are amazing and you know I\'m always happy to be invited.\" As for the dress? \"Well you\'re going to have to wait and find out,\" she said. Zosia Mamet of HBO\'s \"Girls\" attended the gala with designer Cynthia Rowley and joked that she was dressed a bit too casual for the fancy event: \"I work out in this. This is my work out clothes, totally. I literally just took it out. I haven\'t even showered for days,\" teased Mamet. While \"Mirror Mirror\" actress Lily Collins felt right at home in her gold Marchesa dress. \"My style? I feel like it\'s constantly changing. I\'ve been taking more risks lately. I like to be sophisticated and chic, yet funky and fresh. I don\'t know. I mix in a bit of vintage in there and I don\'t know, I\'m constantly evolving and changing.\" The previously announced style icon award went to Johnny Depp, but he\'s on the set of \"The Lone Ranger\" and didn\'t attend. He sent an email - and filmmaker friend John Waters - in his place.
