'The Duchess of Sussex continues to wow the public with her dress code nine months into her royal role but Meghan’s longtime followers with a keen eye for detail have spotted a change in her wardrobe. While she was known for splashing colour and taking risks with her style during her single days, since marrying into the one of the world’s oldest royal families the expectant mum\'s outfits have been considerably toned down. These days Meghan, 37, is known more for her conservative, classy and cream-coloured numbers - something which celebrity stylist Anita Patrickson puts down to a number of factors. Ms Patrickson told the Evening Standard: “Cream is such a flattering tone for anyone with olive or darker complexions. “It all pops against her dark locks and really makes a statement in a very chic and elegant way.” Meghan’s lack of colour in her modest outfit choices is also seen as a nod to her in-laws as she tours the globe promoting the royal family’s causes. Ms Patrickson said Meghan’s choice of ivory, beige and oatmeal dresses and coats could also be part of her efforts to not overshadow her important duties while carrying out royal engagements. Meghan is expected to focus on being of service to the nation as opposed to using her platform to showcase outlandish or daring dresses. Ms Patrickson said: “When you are in the spotlight, the way that Meghan is, your fashion choices need to reflect the right morals and standing.\"As each of Meghan’s outfits will be meticulously planned by royal aides, the focus will centred on keeping within the royals’ clothing standards but making a statement is not off limits. Skirts and dresses must reach the knee, pantyhose are favoured, and colourful nail polish is frowned upon. After choosing a white coat for her engagement announcement with Prince Harry, a white midi dress for Royal Ascot, and a pastel pink number for her first appearance at Trooping the Colour, Meghan has continued with the neutral trend during her pregnancy. Some of her most eye-catching maternity ensembles include a head-to-toe blush outfit she chose for a recent visit to the National Theatre, and a matching cream dress and coat when she stepped out to see a performance at the Natural History Museum. The nude colours, according to Ms Patrickson, make the duchess’s look timeless and elegant and ensure her choices will be admired for years to come.'
